Great Teachers exposes students and the community to the research of scholars and practitioners in Communication. Scholars visit Wake, teach, and present.
Great Teachers is unlike any course students take. The purpose of this course is to expose students to the research of scholars and practitioners in communication studies, media studies, and rhetorical studies and allow students to develop a deep understanding of their research programs.
Students get to know the scholars through their work and then meet them when the Great Teachers visit the class, the Department, and the Wake community.
Students also plan and overview all aspects of the Great Teachers' visits and have essential roles in the planning and promoting of all events. The class allows students an opportunity to practice organizational, leadership, event planning, advertising, marketing and PR skills.
